mzaiats1204 asked: Hey there. My name is Marina Zaiats, class 2010 and former Lamont resident. I am in the Smith College Club of NYC and we are gearing up to promote this year's round of pecans. Are you familar with this tradition? If not, there is more info on the SCNYC club website>marketplace>pecans. Do you know if there are any photos that reference this fundraising tradition?? It would be great to include in our promotional materials. Thanks!

Hi Marina,

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner! I’ve searched through all of my usual sources, but I haven’t been able to find any photos of this wonderful tradition! Alum photos do not often pop up on my radar, unfortunately. If I do come across something in the future, I will be sure to pass it on to you!

Best of luck with the fundraising!

Drew

Smith alum Julia Child would have turned 100 today. To celebrate, PBS remixed her very best bits of wisdom.

I must admit, this is the first time I’ve gotten teary eyed during an autotuned video.

Happy 100th birthday, Julia Child! We’ll be sharing photos and videos of the honorary patron saint of this blog throughout the day, of course. In the meantime, tour her kitchen here.
